This is the harsh reality. Back in 2005, I was so interested in the then tv discussions among different political parties. I was telling my friends, unaware though, what if God bless us by merging the beautiful minds of Meles Zenawi, Birhanu Nega, Arkebe Ekubay, Bulcha Demeksa, Birtukan Medeksa, Lidetu Ayalew, Beyene Petros, etc. I remember many of my friends had the same wish. We were, however, unaware what we were saying. We were simply expressing our wish. We were too young and uninformed too recognize it will never happen forever!! I do still think though if it was happened, the outcome could have been much better. God knows!!
Things went fast and we was able to see the different personalities via different glass. Out of all the personalities, I was so surprised by Birhanu Nega. A man without honor! A man who doesn’t stand for what he believes! A man who is selfish and arrogant! A man who doesn’t care for anything other than his reputation! A man who claimed to be the most intelligent! A man who dares to call his word as God’s word! A MAN WHO IS IN GENERAL SPAGETI!
We Ethiopians have a right to support or oppose any party, but we should remember our moral values and be ‘nice’ to our fellow Ethiopians. We don’t need to justify the unjustified. Our support or opposition to any party doesn’t mean forever, we change whenever there is change. Whatever our political view is, we should care about the welfare of our fellows and our country rather that the cult of our leaders in both sides.
Birhanu has failed for once and forever. Our politicians in either side should learn from Birhanu, ‘Mekshef ende Birhanu new yalut…’.

We all need to listen to the stories what makes us happy, not what is really said. If you listen properly, there is no mention about Egypt or ‘The Sources’ of the fund. May be you are reading in between the lines. I hope you read and respect the rights of the speaker that he has the will to choose the form of a struggle either peacefully or armed. It should not be regarded as a criminal offence committed against Ethiopia when he is trying to fight his enemies. He is a leader, and to achieve his ultimate goal (perhaps overthrowing the current regime or forcing the regime to put in place democratic reforms and justice) it is his right to choose a suitable and effective strategy.. You know very well that he is not a sinner than the ruling class. After all he is a politician, not a monk, and he has to market and sell everything possible on the way to power or democracy. On the other hand, please try to substantiate your claims in a professional and intelligent ways. The text you put up there just shows your personal opinion, not the truth. Have you ever though about the other side of the story? What would you say if the audio was released as a propaganda (as a psychological warfare) to scare the hell out of the tyrants? Do you think you exposed the deeds of the speaker? To whom? To the tyrants who made you flee the country (if that is true) or to the people of Ethiopia? 1) As expected, G7 is looking for support from outside forces. I blame TPLF which caused the chaos after the 2005 elections for this state of affairs. It is not surprising that some have concluded that peaceful struggle is meaningless. [To some extent, this can be true. TPLF is simply unwilling to open up the political space for peaceful competition.

Several years back when he and his father were building a big hotel in Addis, several families had to move out from their homes to secure/clear the land where the hotel is built. Some families had to move out with a mere promise of compensation for the homes they were going to lose. My nephew happened to be in that very Taxi, overheard things from those two people in this very unconventional way, was left with mind boggling questions about the then very popular Dr. Birhanu Nega.
I relate to the problem of Dr. Birhanu and others for not having a political space to operate in their country. However, would that justify this torch the earth strategy? Would this unholy, unprincipled, at-any-cost path to power bring a justifiable outcome?
